""The part needed is 9706AG to add an aux input to the C5 Mk2 RD4
Blaupunkt radio and this can be ordered from Peugeot/Citroen, BUT the
instructions that come with it are incorrect for Citroen, (but may work
with Peugeot software.)
The part is a connector block that fits into one of the ports on the
rear of the RD4 the other end is a 3.5mm jack socket and 3.5mm
extension lead. The instructions show to connect up to AUX2 using Pins
#1 (R AUX2), #2 (GND AUX2) and #7 (L AUX2). Now, here's the catch -
The aux ports have to be activated by the dealer software, but
the Citroen software can't access the settings for Aux 2 (or the
version at my dealer couldn't - I watched while they did it), only AUX 1
The technician changed the settings on the only AUX port he could
access on the software i.e. AUX 1 and he changed it to "Classic" -
described as for DVD and CD players on the menu. Changing this setting
had an effect on my carphone - before when it muted the radio it used
to bring up the text "Aux Input 1", after changing this setting it
brought up "silence" or "pause" depending on whether I am using Radio
or CD
We knew it should work but initially it didn't. A bit more research
turned up the correct pinouts. These are #4 (R AUX1), #10 (L AUX1) and
#11 (GND AUX1). With the connector block rewired to use the pinouts
for AUX1, and the port enabled to classic via the Citroen software IT
WORKS. The source button on the face of the RD4 now brings up CD,
Radio and Aux Input 1.
When wiring the plug note that it is a 12 way plug, but the pins in
the port only occupy 10 positions - pins #6 and #12 are missing on the
RD4 so make sure you count from the right end !
Also, the vodaphone fitted carkit that mutes the CD/Radio and feeds
the phone thru' the radio speakers also works correctly with Aux Input 1.""
